Task Bar Hero Tier List
A role-aware ranking of all six classes for the July 2026 meta, with separate advice for first picks, three-hero teams and late-game farming.
The short version
Quick answer: Ranger is the strongest general investment, Priest is the most valuable support, and Sorcerer is the clearest area-damage partner. Tier placement changes by gear and stage, so use the ranking as a resource priority rather than a rule.
Current class ranking
This ranking combines progression value, how much gear a class needs, and whether the class remains useful when difficulty rises. It is not a damage test performed with identical items. A well-built lower-tier class can outperform an undergeared top-tier class.
The list also reflects community experience in July 2026. Balance patches, new items and discovered interactions can move a class quickly, so check the game version at the top of the page before investing rare materials.
| Tier | Classes | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| S | Ranger | Single-target damage, bosses, solo farming |
| A | Priest | Tank, healing, party buffs |
| B | Sorcerer, Hunter | Area damage or geared burst damage |
| C | Slayer | Traditional frontline and party support |
| D | Knight | Early tanking before stronger options mature |
S tier: Ranger
Ranger earns the top position because the class combines a smooth early game with excellent long-term scaling. Attack speed, projectile or physical damage, critical chance and critical damage all reinforce the same job: remove priority targets before they slow the run.
Ranger also supports a valuable late-game option — solo farming. On some Torment stages, extra teammates can disturb enemy timing or die early, while a geared Ranger clears the wave cleanly. That does not mean solo is always best; compare actual clear times before removing support.
A tier: Priest
Priest is the safest second investment because one class can cover tanking, healing and team buffs. That flexibility frees the other slots for damage. Blessing-focused setups are especially useful when the formation already survives and simply needs more damage to shorten bosses.
Priest is also available as a free class add-on on Steam. Claim it early. A modestly geared Priest often contributes more to a new account than a second damage class competing for the same materials.
B tier: Sorcerer and Hunter
Sorcerer supplies the area damage that Ranger lacks. Cast speed and area bonuses let her soften a full wave so the main carry can finish. She is a reliable third member of a free-to-play progression team.
Hunter can deliver strong burst damage, but the class is more dependent on getting the right weapon and attack-speed setup. If excellent Hunter gear drops first, use it. Otherwise, Ranger normally offers a safer return on the same upgrade materials.
C and D tier: Slayer and Knight
Slayer is the stronger conventional frontline option when you want a durable body plus party support. The class can work in a steady early-to-mid team, but high-difficulty progression tends to reward damage and speed more than additional armor.
Knight is easy to understand and useful at the start, yet falls behind once Priest or Slayer can hold the front while adding more team value. Keep using Knight if the gear is clearly better; do not sink rare resources into the class simply because it was the first pick.
Best teams by goal
| Goal | Formation | Why it works |
|---|---|---|
| General progression | Priest / Sorcerer / Ranger | Survival, area clear and boss damage |
| Safer early game | Slayer / Priest / Ranger | Traditional frontline with healing |
| High-damage push | Priest / Ranger / Sorcerer | Buffed carry plus fast wave clear |
| Late farming | Solo Ranger | Clean timing when the stage and gear allow it |
Frequently asked questions
What is the best first class in Task Bar Hero?
Ranger is the best general first choice because the class clears quickly, scales well and remains useful in late-game farming.
Is Priest worth using if I already have a tank?
Usually yes. Priest can heal, buff and often take the front position with less investment, which can free the remaining slot for another damage class.
Is solo Ranger always the fastest farm?
No. It becomes attractive on specific late stages when Ranger has enough gear and teammates interfere with timing or die. Compare several clears with and without the party.
